About Us

 
Our journey of retailing uniform started in the year 1973 by Late Makhanlal Saha alongwith his two sons Mr. Narayan Ch. Saha & Mr. Basudeb Saha as a hawker in Durgapur.

In the year 1978 we purchased one shop of 48 sq. ft at Benachity market to store the goods because we were facing hardship for storing goods during the summer & the monsoon season.

In 1981 Mr. Narayan Ch. Saha & Mr. Basudeb Saha formed Harekrishna Stores in that 48 sq. ft store after the death of our father Makhanlal Saha. As some of the shopkeepers in the market infront of whose shops we used to sell uniform didn’t allow us to continue the business terming us “untouchable” due to the death of Makhanlal Saha.

Since 1981 due to our grit determination and hard work, we have established a trusted customer base for ourselves and also our store area grew from 48 sq. ft to 1640 sq. ft.

In 2012 Mr. Animesh Saha, son of Mr. Basudeb Saha joined the business and under the guidance and leadership of his father, the firm has achieved new milestones.

In 2016 both Mr. Narayan Ch. Saha & Mr. Basudeb Saha took retirement from the business and transferred full authority to Mr. Animesh Saha.

In 2017 Harekrishna Stores started it’s first uniform manufacturing units in different parts of Kolkata with total 12 machines.

Now we are having :
1) 15 machines for shirt manufacturing located at Santoshpur & Dakghar, South 24 Parganas
2) 12 machines for trouser manufacturing located at Howrah
3) 9 machines for ladies uniform manufacturing at Barasat & Paikpara, Kolkata
4) 8 machines for T-Shirt & Track pant manufacturing at Kankinara, North 24 Parganas
5) 1 machine in Durgapur for emergency and altering.
6) For Blazer manufacturing we do “White Labelling”.

For socks, ties, belts, woolen sweaters, woolen caps, leggings, hand gloves, school shoes, rainy wears, etc. we directly outsource from manufacturers or wholesellers.

Our Stores
We have two bricks and mortar stores. One @ Benachity, Durgapur (2040 sq. ft) & another @ Bidhannagar, Durgapur (180 sq. ft) stared in the year 2022.

In 2023 we have integrated technology in both of our stores and manufacturing units, so that we can speedup our expansion process via “Omnichannel Retailing”.

In 2024 we have launched our own e-com website & App which is playing an important role in our “expansion process”.
